No Bad Parts Book Discussion with Trauma Research Foundation

It was a pleasure to join as a panelist with the Trauma Research Foundation Book Club discussing Internal Family Systems founder Dick Schwartz 2022 book No Bad Parts

Internal Family Systems meshes so well with Compassion-Focused approaches to therapy and Mindful Self Compassion. I love integrating systems work and unburdening exiled parts of Self as part of trauma recovery work with so many clients’ incredibly hard working, suffering, high performance parts. Truly there is NO BAD PART of you; every part of you is sacred and is doing its best to help with what it knows.

Check out the upcoming sessions of the Trauma Research Foundation Book Club on Youtube.

Here is Session 1 below. I loved connecting with this community and the only regret I have is a nature loving part was sad we ran out of time because she was waiting eagerly for the last question of the night which was:

“Exiling is toxic to any system. It severs our connection to each other, to our own bodies, to the Earth and to the Divine. What is the alternative paradigm for this problem?”

What do your parts think the answer is?

With love,

Kimberly Sogge Ph.D., C.Psych. CPO #4531
