Mindful Eating
Mindful Path to Healthy Eating
Offered by Dr. Kim Sogge, Ph.D., C.Psych.
I have developed a six week program that addresses problems of overeating, compulsive dieting, and emotional eating within a supportive environment of one on one work with me or supportive group work with other clients like you facilitated by me. This approach was developed through my work with outpatient clinics serving adolescent and adult women in the Ontario Eating Disorder Network. Mindful Eating is intended to support your journey of recovery from disordered eating and/or body image problems. If you have struggled with eating and body image difficulties, and are engaged in recovery, then Mindful Eating may be of assistance to you. For those with a diagnosed eating disorder, Mindful Eating can be a great adjunct to your work in therapy for a diagnosed eating disorder. Mindful Eating is an additional support for those on a journey of recovery from eating difficulties. Mindful Eating is not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment for those whose health has been significantly compromised by eating disorders or who have not yet engaged in a recovery process for their eating disorder.
The Mindful Eating program integrates mindfulness, meditation, and evidence-based psychology interventions to empower you to manage your inner world, your relationship with food and your body, and to help you find greater balance and enjoyment in eating.
This group will be offered in 2012-2013 in a ONE DAY immersion workshop format.
