Awakening a Heart of Compassion: Mindful Self Compassion Silent Retreat

at Le Monastere des Augustines, Quebec City, Quebec, Canada

Join Dr. Kimberly Sogge C.Psych. Canadian MSC teacher, and mindfulness teacher (Spirit Rock MYMT, Awake in the Wild Facilitator), on a five day silent mindful self compassion retreat, Awakening a Heart of Compassion.

This retreat will be conducted in English, and meets the requirements of teacher training for MSC, MBSR and MBCT teachers. Continuing Professional Education credits may be available.

This retreat will support a soaking and deepening in the Mindful Self Compassion core practices including but not limited to: affectionate breathing, compassionate body scan, compassionate movement, lovingkindness for self and other, compassion for self and other, compassion with difficult emotions, compassion with shame, compassion and equanimity with caregiver stress, living from the vows of the heart, self-appreciation, gratitude, and cultivating joy. Each day of the retreat will include three vegetarian meals, one hour of optional mindful movement as embodied mindful self compassion practice, daily dharma talks, and opportunities for mindful dialogue and inquiry. We will also offer weekly small group support sessions.

The setting for the Awakening the Heart of Compassion Retreat is the Monastere des Augustines, an award winning, renovated historic convent, the oldest hospital in North America outside of Mexico, nestled within the walls of old Quebec City on the shores of the St. Lawrence River.

Together with the healing environment of the beautiful Monastere des Augustines in the heart of old Quebec City, we intend to support the awakening of your heart of compassion.
